Stem Earns Place in Prestigious Global Cleantech 100 for 2020

For more than a decade, Stem has been at the forefront of intelligent energy use, working to build energy infrastructure that responds to the challenges facing enterprises today. Through these efforts, Stem has revealed new ways for companies to leverage AI and energy storage to transform the way that they use renewable energy, resulting in more efficient resource use, competitive gains, and new streams of revenue. 

Our mission has long been focused around building a more efficient and sustainable future, providing customers and partners alike with practical ways to optimize energy use. Through our powerful energy storage platform, responsiveness to new information revealed by AI insights,  Stem has taken a multitude of steps to help our customers further these goals. With our mission firmly in mind, we are pleased to announce that Stem has been named one of the Global Cleantech 100 for 2020, marking our sixth time on the list.  

What Puts Stem on the List

The Global Cleantech 100 is comprised of the companies best positioned to contribute to a more digitized, de-carbonized, and resource-efficient industrial future. Selections are made according to Global Cleantech Group’s own research, qualitative judgments from nominations, and insight from a global 80-member panel of industry leaders from a broad array of backgrounds. 

Stem’s combination of leading energy storage technologies and world-class AI-powered analytics uniquely positions us to advance the new energy economy, significantly bolstering generation and use of renewable energy. From optimized usage to monetized storage to heightened resilience, the energy infrastructures created using Stem’s platform allow enterprises to completely control the way they use energy. This emphasis on efficient resource use and control allows our customers and Partners to meaningfully reduce their impact on the environment while reducing expenditures. 

Stem’s intelligent energy storage is powered by the Athena® AI platform, which boasts more than 10 million runtime hours empowering enterprises to optimize energy use through automated switching between battery power, onsite generation, and grid power without disrupting operations. To date, Stem has more than 600 projects currently operating with 300 MW enrolled in our network, with more consistently being added to our roster.
